Behind the Steering Wheel !

Last Sunday was my first day off here in CA since I came back from Sweden. And I was really lucky with the weather as well, it was 105°F/40°C warm, that it’s hot !

Beginning of this week I have been working on the race car and prepare my next race, this Saturday! We went throw all the data and could see that during braking with had 1,6 G-forces and in the corner we was up to 1,7 G, that is pretty cool ! Last weekend we raced both of the NASCAR Modified's and we decided to put in a more experience NASCAR driver – Benny Moon ! So he could helped us to figure out more about the car ! Here are some picture from that weekend !

On Thursday 21, we have a private track day and also Friday so we can be so prepared as possible for the race this Saturday, I can’t wait to be behind the steering wheel again !

I found a really cool video clip from one of my Camaro Cup races last year. I started second last and I’m in the car in front, the red one ! I believe I did my best start ever during my career ! I passed 8 cars during the first lap! Enjoy !!!

American Racing !

I have just arrived back from our race at Madera ! It was over 90°F/32°C warm with a lot of good races!

At the racetrack I saw the coolest thing ever – A Super Modified ! I had never heard about it before but if you put a dragster and a Indy Car together - you got a Super Modified ! On the short tracks they can actually have a top speed close to 180mph / 290km/h and be faster than Indy cars !!! Here is some picture of the car and the weekend !

On our way home we stopped for fuel and in the store I found “Swedish Fish”. And the funny thing is; I’ve never seen this in Sweden and it’s produced in Canada but sells in America…hmm !?

Back in the shop the guys are working really hard to finish the second NASCAR Modified car. Hopefully that car will be finished this Friday so it can be able to race this weekend! So now I’ll take a lot of picture during the build up! Here is all the pictures and stay tuned the rest of the week !

Let's go racing

This morning I felt the jet leg is gone, it’s 9 hours different between Sweden and America ! It’s nice to not wake up 5am with a lot of energy and not just lying in the bed and waiting for the alarm!

Today I got asked from the team if I can help out this race weekend at Madera. So now I need to pack my bag and go racing! It will be fun to be on a race track again plus to be able to explore more of California. The weather channel said it will be 88 °F/31 °C warm and 37% humanity, sounds good :)

Have a great weekend !

Marten

From Sweden to US on 24h !

Now I’ve arrived back to California after my 13 days in Sweden. It was a long flight but everything worked very good and smooth and I’ve got my beauty sleep now!

I’m very pleased with my trip to Sweden and I was able to meet new and old sponsors and media which was fun. The premier race of STCC and Camaro Cup was very good. It was nice to meet all the drivers and team and I’m excited to follow all theirs races this year ! I was also honor to be the guy who give the trophy to the winner in the Junior Chip in Camaro Cup, the champion chip that I was able to win last year !

It was nice to met my team again here in California and a lot of new things is going on ! They have fine tune the engine and found a lot of horsepower and right now they install a new data log in the car. It was great news to hear and I’m really excited to our practices on the track !!! The team has now started again to assemble the other NASCAR Modified car. So I’ll continue to upload pictures so you can follow and see how to build up a NASCAR Modified. Here is the Link for the new pictures !

When I was gone I received a package from NASCAR, with my membership, pins, decals and a paper from the NASCAR organization who which my luck for this season !

One year’s work on 14 days?!

During my 14 days in Sweden I try to be as effective as possible and do so much I can. My day started with some computer work, read/answer e-mails, presentations, documentations etc. Than after lunch I met one of my friends at the gym and worked out for couple of hours !

And directly from the fitness I had an appointment with the journalist Fredrik Gustafsson from the magazine ENA . He did a great article about my journey to America just before I left Sweden in January. It’s in Swedish but you can read it right Here !

He asked me some great questions which make it obviously for me how much I’ve learned and what a big opportunity I’ve and how much I have been able to do!

After the interview I made some phone calls and planed the rest of my week ! And now it’s time for dinner, Swedish dinner !

“Beware of The Speed Swede” !

My flight from CA to Sweden went very well and I also took the sunny California weather with me! My first day in Sweden I got a very nice e-mailed! It was a very nice and appreciated article about me and my NASCAR career in Sweden’s biggest motorsport TV-Channel, Viasat Motor, and Sweden’s biggest Newspaper, Aftonbladet, and on NASCAR.se!!

The journalist is Ted Westerfors who inform and keep the whole Sweden update with the latest NASCAR, Camaro Cup news and many more! I find his NASCAR Blog very interesting with a lot of inside information, thoughts and results! You find it all on Ted’s NASCAR Blog – right Here !

I’ve met a lot of friends and family and kept myself very busy here in Sweden, which is very fun ! Beginning of next week I’ve some meetings and then it’s time for racing, next weekend!! I’ll not drive but it’s always fun to be on a racetrack!

From warm to cold!

Monday morning I’ll fly to Sweden and be there for two weeks. It’ll be a lot of work and I looking forward to my trip. Except the long flight, 20 hours ! I traveled once per month between Sweden and America from November month but now it has been a while so it’ll be fine !

The weather has been great these couple of days in California 90°F/32°C and it feels weird to not pack shorts, sunglasses, sun block etc. Most of my time in Sweden I’ll work with sponsors and media and also see couple of friends and family. I left Sweden January 14 so it was awhile ago and it’s kind of funny to look back and see how much has happened, both with me in the US and everything in Sweden!

My last days in Sweden I’ll arrive to the premier race of STCC/Camaro Cup, the series I raced before ! I’ll help some drivers with coaching and I’m excited to see the race in STCC, Camaro Cup and JTCC with all the new drivers and teams. For more information STCCCamaro Cup !
