Behind the Steering Wheel !

Last Sunday was my first day off here in CA since I came back from Sweden. And I was really lucky with the weather as well, it was 105°F/40°C warm, that it’s hot !

Beginning of this week I have been working on the race car and prepare my next race, this Saturday! We went throw all the data and could see that during braking with had 1,6 G-forces and in the corner we was up to 1,7 G, that is pretty cool ! Last weekend we raced both of the NASCAR Modified's and we decided to put in a more experience NASCAR driver – Benny Moon ! So he could helped us to figure out more about the car ! Here are some picture from that weekend !

On Thursday 21, we have a private track day and also Friday so we can be so prepared as possible for the race this Saturday, I can’t wait to be behind the steering wheel again !

I found a really cool video clip from one of my Camaro Cup races last year. I started second last and I’m in the car in front, the red one ! I believe I did my best start ever during my career ! I passed 8 cars during the first lap! Enjoy !!!

American Racing !

I have just arrived back from our race at Madera ! It was over 90°F/32°C warm with a lot of good races!

At the racetrack I saw the coolest thing ever – A Super Modified ! I had never heard about it before but if you put a dragster and a Indy Car together - you got a Super Modified ! On the short tracks they can actually have a top speed close to 180mph / 290km/h and be faster than Indy cars !!! Here is some picture of the car and the weekend !

On our way home we stopped for fuel and in the store I found “Swedish Fish”. And the funny thing is; I’ve never seen this in Sweden and it’s produced in Canada but sells in America…hmm !?

Back in the shop the guys are working really hard to finish the second NASCAR Modified car. Hopefully that car will be finished this Friday so it can be able to race this weekend! So now I’ll take a lot of picture during the build up! Here is all the pictures and stay tuned the rest of the week !

Let's go racing

This morning I felt the jet leg is gone, it’s 9 hours different between Sweden and America ! It’s nice to not wake up 5am with a lot of energy and not just lying in the bed and waiting for the alarm!

Today I got asked from the team if I can help out this race weekend at Madera. So now I need to pack my bag and go racing! It will be fun to be on a race track again plus to be able to explore more of California. The weather channel said it will be 88 °F/31 °C warm and 37% humanity, sounds good :)

Have a great weekend !

Marten

From Sweden to US on 24h !

Now I’ve arrived back to California after my 13 days in Sweden. It was a long flight but everything worked very good and smooth and I’ve got my beauty sleep now!

I’m very pleased with my trip to Sweden and I was able to meet new and old sponsors and media which was fun. The premier race of STCC and Camaro Cup was very good. It was nice to meet all the drivers and team and I’m excited to follow all theirs races this year ! I was also honor to be the guy who give the trophy to the winner in the Junior Chip in Camaro Cup, the champion chip that I was able to win last year !

It was nice to met my team again here in California and a lot of new things is going on ! They have fine tune the engine and found a lot of horsepower and right now they install a new data log in the car. It was great news to hear and I’m really excited to our practices on the track !!! The team has now started again to assemble the other NASCAR Modified car. So I’ll continue to upload pictures so you can follow and see how to build up a NASCAR Modified. Here is the Link for the new pictures !

When I was gone I received a package from NASCAR, with my membership, pins, decals and a paper from the NASCAR organization who which my luck for this season !

Best,
Marten
